HILUMIN® is a high grade, cold-rolled steel strip with an electro-deposited layer of pure nickel on both sides and produced in Germany. A special heat treatment process provides for mutual diffusion of the nickel and iron atoms in the boundary layer. This produces fine grain mixed crystals, I.e., a permanent bond between electrodeposit and base material. In addition, the material is softened and very easy to deep draw. Chemical and optical measurements ensure that there is a minimum plating thickness of 2㎛ to 6㎛, depending on the functional and corrosion protective requirements.
